Our dear classmate Daniel Gamache passed away on Oct. 23, 2026. He was in our class during first and second grades at Pleasant View School, then joined the ELHS Class of 1971, where he remained until the beginning of 1969, when he joined the ELHS Class of 1972. However, he did not graduate feom ELHS. His brother and our classmate, Armand Gamache, passed away in 2017.
Here are excerpts from his obituary which appeared in The Republican newspaper, Springfield, MA:
Daniel Edward Gamache, age 74, husband of the late Ann (Waldron), passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026.
Daniel was born in Springfield, MA to the late Pierre and Jeanette (Bourque) Gamache.
He was the former owner of Dan's Lawnmower Repair before retiring.
In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, camping, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Gallagher (Jay) and Danielle Griffin (Mike); his fiancée, Maureen Bushior; and his brothers Roger and Fred. He leaves behind eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Armand and his granddaughter Ryann Griffin.
