Hello. For most it has been 40 years since you have heard from me.

The day Neil Armstrong walked on the moon was the day my father told me he had sold our home on Sanford Street, and we would be moving back to Chicago. The memory of that day came back to me watching the 40 year celebration of the moon walk on TV. No doubt it was a very sad time in my life. Leaving East Longmeadow before my senior year of High School was not easy. My family moved to East Longmeadow the day before my 5th birthday and we moved away 12 years and 3 months later.

I have fantastic memories of growing up in East Longmeadow. As my mother would say later in her life “we had a good life there”. Both my parents are gone. Dad died over 15 years ago. Taking care of my father for several years before he died we got to talk about everything and I was able to understand him. He did what was best for the family moving us back to Chicago. He got the promotion he had always wanted, my mother’s parents were still alive and living out in Chicago Land and my sister also wanted to move. My mother died 5 years ago from Alzheimer’s and Dementia. My sister still lives in Illinois. Fleda and her husband have a farm in Newark. Population was 500 a few years ago. I refer to her place as Green Acres.

Presently I am living in Pasadena Maryland between Baltimore and Annapolis. I have one daughter, Amy, and one grandson, Ronnie that is 5. Fortunately they live a few miles away so I get to spend time with my grandson.

I would like to thank Stephen St Marie, Scott Moore and Gina Truitt McKinney for putting me on EL web site.
